My Experience
During my studies at the Faculty of Science, Charles University, where I focused on HIV research, I became truly fascinated by how this almost inanimate entity can completely hijack an individual’s immune system with just nine genes. During this time, the complexity of genetic information stored in a DNA molecule—its transmission and its relationship to the development of various diseases—became the central focus of my interest.
After completing my master’s degree in Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Virology in 2022, my career path led me into the private sector, where I worked as an application specialist in next-generation DNA sequencing approaches. In this role, I realized there is a vast personnel gap between research and the clinical application of new technologies, which prevents the proper development of treatment strategies based on genetic information analysis and personalized medicine.
My professional goal is not only to implement the latest technologies into routine practice in applied research, but also to introduce functional solutions that enable the early diagnosis and monitoring of genetic, infectious, and oncological diseases.
