Head Bioinformatician
My Experience
I began my journey into bioinformatics during my doctoral studies within the Blood Cancer Research Group at the University Hospital Ostrava. There, I contributed to projects focused on identifying mutations for the treatment of oncological and other conditions, specifically multiple myeloma, breast cancer, and amyloidosis. During this period, I mastered the fundamentals of Python, which paved the way for a research internship under Prof. Giovanni Stracquadanio at the Universities of Essex and Edinburgh. This experience allowed me to specialize further in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis.
Following these academic projects, I joined DNAnexus, where I collaborated with bioinformaticians from leading pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions. My role involved addressing complex, real-world challenges within their bioinformatics pipelines.
These experiences have provided me with a comprehensive overview of the current frontiers in science. My goal is to help make these modern technologies and methodologies more accessible and effective—not only within research but also in clinical and applied practice.
